Doug and Anna have grown crops for Timeless Seeds for many years. What sets their farm apart is their intern program.
“We are committed to educating the next generation of farmers to train them in land stewardship ethics and practices,” Doug explains.
“We currently offer the only organic grain apprenticeship in the country and we are in our 7th year as mentors through Quivira Coalitions New Agrarian Program.”
While taking young people onto their large and complicated farm has its challenges, Doug and Anna believe that it is increasingly important to reconnect the next generation to our food production.
“All our work and investment in better food and better land will be for nothing if there is no one ready to carry that work forward in the coming future,” Doug continues.
